Happiness is the beauty of nature

It's the little things in life that make me happy. What a better way of starting your day than admiring one of God's creations up close. Sharing this with you. I don't know what kind of a moth this is, but when it opened it's wings it was the size of my hand... so beautiful, just resting on my skirt...

I've been a bad girl

I have totally neglected my blog. Absolutely no excuse, I just got into a bead making mode... and buried myself in my studio-garage for months... making beads after beads after beads... I think I got it, whatever it was, out of my system now. And I have finally decided to list some of my children for sale in my etsy shop... so stop by...

Also I've gotten back to etching, conveniently after finding out that ferric chloride is almost impossible to find anywhere. Luckily, being related to a pack rat... I of course had some left in my cupboard that I could use for this pendant, and after it's gone I will have to make my own from hydrogen peroxide and pool acid... yikes... talk about another "dangerous" mission in an artists life. I will keep you posted how it will turn out, in a littlebit... need time to grow bigger cahonas first...

Let the sunshine in… Fast!

The horrible cold front is finally gone and over with, me & my poor old house slowly warming up from the heat of the sun… boy does it take a loo-ooong time. Sun to me is like a quick fix for an addict. I feel this renewed energy running up my veins.

So I started too many projects last year and couldn’t finish most of them, which tends to happen to me constantly. But a new year and new determination not to start any new projects until I finish the old ones… like it’ll happen since it is so difficult to choose from several equally interesting things and I might come up with a bunch of new ones… oh well…

I think I’m going for the folk art etchings I started awhile back…

The plates are already etched. I just got some water soluble etching ink that I’m curious to try, the previous etching ink stunk bad and was a b… to clean up. And yes, my etching press has little rust (& dust) on it so gotta clean it up first. I’ll be posting some photos soon.

Quote for Today

‘Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you are doing. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself.’
